We are Officially OPEN!
We are retiring “Kaleva Cabins” as that was only a placeholder website. Our new website is now live: https://waterandwoods.com/
Why are we Doing Retreats?
We started thinking earnestly of hosting retreats as people were coming out of the pandemic. Kat was facilitating more retreats than ever as people on virtual work overload were starved for person-to-person connection in their workplaces. Clients were booking retreats left, right and center. And it didn’t stop after the world opened back up.
We were watching our children navigate a world with massive technology and artificial intelligence (AI) expansion. Saw them dealing with school shooting threats and gun violence, global climate change / warming, and political upheaval. Even new potentials of nuclear war, something we hadn’t really worried about since watching “The Day After” as kids ourselves.
We began thirsting for a place to get back to basics and re-ground ourselves, strengthen our own connection to self and purpose. We even bought some off-grid land in the pandemic and literally felt the healing power of reconnecting to nature.
And that was the spark.
Can we do this on a grander scale, for more people? We knew we weren’t the only ones feeling this way. Can we create a place where people can tune out all the noise and get back to remembering who they are and what’s really important to them?
We decided to go for it. And we’re giving it our all.
Modest inheritances made the financial end of making this leap a little easier. So we lift up the names of recent ancestors who supported us in their passing: Yvonne Marlene Schumacher Catelli (Kat’s aunt) and Daniel Anthony Tosch (Jen’s Dad). Thank you for helping us create this space.
We hope we see you at Water & Woods sometime in the near future.
