Questions About Your Stay & Our Policies

What You Need to Know

Thanks for asking!  Protecting the land and water is of utmost importance to us and we have several environmental protections in place.  In order to plan your stay, we ask all guests to bring and use: reef safe sunscreen before entering the lake and environmentally friendly bug repellent.  We do not use pesticides and feature incense for ambient mosquito reduction.  We also limit campfires to communal firepits to reduce woodsmoke and carbon pollution.  All products and materials used for lake and land management are designed to minimize environmental impact.

We recommend comfortable clothes, swim suits, hiking shoes, and any other personal items you’d like.  Wide-brimmed hats and reef-safe sunscreen are great for nature hikes. Re-useable water bottles can be filled with fresh water throughout your stay.

For the health and comfort of all of our guests, we currently do not allow pets. However, we may make exceptions in some cases.  Please inquire when you register.

Yes, we encourage you to bring your own non-motorized watercraft to enjoy on the lake, including kayaks, canoes, sailboats, paddle boards and more.  In order to keep invasive species out of the lake, we ask you to rinse off and clean any watercraft before entering the dock area.

We provide communal fire pits for evening campfires. We ask that you use only the provided firewood and follow all fire safety guidelines.  At high fire risk times, no fires will be permitted to prevent wildfires in the area.

Questions About Our Philosophy

Our Values: Reconnecting to Nature

At Water & Woods we encourage you to completely unplug.  Leave your phone and devices behind as you leave your cabin or tent and fully immerse yourself in the natural world. Cell coverage is spotty and Wi-Fi is available for emergency use.  We invite you to use your stay as an opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with yourself and nature.

Our space is an inclusive retreat that welcomes all faiths and prioritizes a connection to nature. We believe that connection to spirit is intertwined with a connection to the earth.  Maintaining natural wildlands is a priority for us. Our only expectation for you is to appreciate and care for nature and people as we do, with care and kindness for all.
